Hello,
Thank-you for an opportunity to show we care. I am a mother of one, but I have asked for my nephew's Scout troop to lend a hand. Expect more cards and letters.
Enclosed are five purchased and five handmade cards. Each one comes with Love and Hope. I enjoyed making the cards. I hope they are what you were asking for.
A second envelope with letters from me will follow.
You are doing a good thing.
Sincerely,
Bobbie J. Cade

Kennedy Elementary School, Massachusetts
Hello,
We are an elementary school in Billerica, Massachusetts, USA, and would like to contribute letters to the children of Japan. On May 2, 2011 we are having a school wide assembly to reinforce the character education topic of Empathy. To reinforce the topic we are calling our assembly “Sharing a light of hope” with Japan. Students will be writing letters, poems, cards, and drawing pictures to share.
We would like to take these letters/poems and mail them to you after the assembly so that the children of Japan know that we care. Is your organization still accepting letters? Please let me know.
Thanks.

Dear Ms. Li--
My name is Ms. Brown, and I am writing to inform you that my bilingual class has prepared 13 cards to send from Bellwood, Illinois. We had created them during our language arts class, and they are finally being sent. This began as a journal assignment, where I asked the students to imagine what they would say to a child who had been affected by the earthquake, and to write a letter expressing the encouraging thoughts. As the students were writing, I asked them if they wanted me to look online and see if they could write their letters in real life. Sometimes the students are too shy to do this sort of thing, but they agreed quickly. I went online, typed in "Letters To Japan" on google, and quickly found the information leading me to your organization. The students put a lot of thought and care into the cards, and truly wrote from their hearts. Although there are only a few, I sincerely hope that these cards give hope and strength to those who have suffered so much. I also will write to the other teachers in my school, to see if maybe we can make it a school-wide project. So many prayers and thoughts are going out to you all. We will be looking on the site and in the email for updates on when the cards have been sent out and/or received.
Sincerely,
Ms. Brown and the students of the 7th/8th grade bilingual class, Rm.105

University of Wisconsin-Parkiside
I'm part of the Parkside Asian Organization at University of Wisconsin-Parkiside, and we're having an event starting Monday where people can fill out a "postcard" with an encouraging message to people in Japan as well as collecting donations to fund aid in Japan. The problem is, we haven't been able to establish a place to send it. The "postcards" aren't mailable individually, so we plan to send them all together in a box. Can we send them to you and be assured they will reach people who will appreciate them?
Thank you,

On your website, I found the address ...Is this where I can send my class' letters upon completion? Is there a way that we can find out or be notified that our letters arrived and were shipped to Japan? Please let me know! Thanks!

Kingston Springs, Tennessee
I am a school counselor in Kingston Springs, Tennessee and I wanted my 4th graders to write letters to Japanese students to show their support and encouragement. I think it would make more of an impact if they had a specific school to write to but I understand if that’s not possible. Our school was also destroyed in the May 2010 Flood that affected Nashville and surrounding areas so we can understand to a degree this tragedy.
Please let me know if there is more specific information I can provide to my students or if we can send letters through your organization.
Thanks for your time,
